Operating Room Assistant (ORA)
MAIN FUNCTION:
Facilitates and assists with the daily flow of activities of the operating room and patient care by cleaning the operating room suites and related areas , transporting patients and equipment, stocking supplies, and performing other duties as assigned.
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Maintain a current AHA (American Heart Association) Healthcare Provider BLS card
RESPONSIBLE TO: Department Director, Clinical Manager, Charge Nurses
Operations
- Able to assist in lifting patients into wheelchairs or beds/carts.
- Able to maneuver carts, beds, or wheelchairs for patients of varying size using good body mechanics.
- Facilitate efficient Operating Room turnover and preparation for the following cases in a timely manner. Employees in this position may be exposed to blood, body fluids, and/or airborne pathogens and are required to wear barriers.
- Transport patients, case carts, instrument trays, and specimens to and from the operating room in a safe and efficient manner.
- Provide support to the OR suites as necessary and directed.
- Stock supplies in the operating rooms as directed.
- Assist in gathering equipment necessary for the operating rooms.
- Remove unnecessary equipment return to its proper place.
- Pull cases from the preference cards.
- Performs additional assignments as needed and directed by the charge nurse.
0630am to 3pm Monday to Friday No Weekends or Holidays
40 hours a week
