We are looking for you! We can teach you the skills needed to become an Ophthalmic Technician- you bring the motivation!
As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting ophthalmologists in various clinical procedures. Your expertise in multi tasking and teamwork are highly desired.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary eye examinations, including taking patient histories and measuring visual acuity
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging
- Assist ophthalmologists during minor office-based procedures
- Administer eye medications as directed by physicians
- Educate patients on proper eye care and post-operative instructions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Collaborate with the front desk staff to schedule appointments and manage patient flow
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn ophthalmic procedures, instruments, and equipment is necessary
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
