Co-facilitator for devised theatre program May – July 2025
The Hanover Theatre Conservatory in Worcester is seeking co-facilitator for their unique and innovative devised theater program called The WYSH (Worcester Youth Speak Honestly) Project. The program is an opportunity for young people in Worcester to explore their identity, community and wishes for a better world using art-based activities. The culmination of the program is an original piece of theatre based on their life experiences, reflections, and stories. There are 3 free, public performances in the BrickBox theatre that also include talk-backs with the cast and audience. This program is very much student led, with all participants serving as collaborators. Must be comfortable working with a diverse group of young people tackling tough topics related to social justice issues.
The group meets over the course of about 12 weeks beginning in April through July.
The position would require the following time commitment (though there is room for some flexibility):
April 23rd, 24th and 25th from 10 - 4pm / 3-day intensive
April 25th – June 27th from 5-9pm / weekly workshop (day of the week TBD)
June 30th – July 2nd from 4 – 9 / performance venue rehearsal for spacing etc
July 7th – 9th from 4 - 9pm / tech week in performance venue
July 10th from 5 – 7 / invited dress
July 11th from 5 – 9 / performance #1
July 12th from 12 – 9 / performance #2 & 3
There will also be time spent on planning meetings, script development and other logistics as needed. Pay is $50/hour for facilitating and directing and $25/hour for planning.
