Position Summary
Our Early Head Start and Head Start Programs provide a continuum of early education and care programming for families in Southern Worcester County.
We offer weekly home visits from prenatal through age three and transition to center-based programming for pre-school aged children.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning, organizing, and carrying out the classroom program and activities
- Contribute to children's overall growth, self-esteem, social competence, development, and safety
Requirements
- Associate's degree in early childhood education, social work, human services, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn software and databases used by WCAC
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations
- Positive, friendly, and resourceful demeanor
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Ability to speak Spanish or other languages (a plus)
Other Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to successfully complete program required Background Record Check
- Evening hours may be required to meet the needs of the families and programs
- Mandatory physical and evidence of negative Mantoux, required by DEEC. Hepatitis B (optional)
