Position Overview
Worcester Cultural Academy Charter Public Schools (WCA) seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist to serve grades k-5. Successful candidates possess experience working in diverse schools with English Language Learners and students with disabilities. Our Physical Therapist must possess a passionate commitment to help our students develop skills needed to fully participate in and out of the classroom. He/she must create fun, exciting programs to help students grow in the areas of motor development and student participation in everyday routines both in and out of the classroom.
Physical Therapist Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred
Registered Physical Therapist
Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Prior experience working in an educational setting
Demonstrate collaborative instructional ability
Experience working with students with disabilities
Bilingual Preferred
Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required

Administer assessments, write reports, communicate with families, and participate in team meetings and IEP development.
Plan and implement physical therapy intervention programs that meet the specific goals and objectives as stated in the IEP.
Possess excellent skills in instruction, organization and communication.
Under direction of the Director of Student Support assist students individually or in small groups needing differentiation in the classroom while modeling EL Education philosophy.
Work with the leadership team, classroom teachers, and other specialists to ensure the needs of all students are being met.
Successfully implement school wide procedures and processes to maintain a school culture of high academic achievement and behavioral expectations. Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers in order to coordinate instructional efforts
Provide consultation to general education and special education staff regarding student needs and best practices
Monitor student progress through the collection of data
Adapt and modify the environment including assistive technology and training instructional staff to meet individual needs and to help students function as independently as possible
Meet all district, state and federal requirements including IEP and Progress Report deadlines
Use professional quality communication skills to convey information to the student’s team
Remain current with accepted and appropriate instructional theory, practice and research. Including engaging in regular and strategic professional development to stay current in best practices for diverse learners
Maintain privacy and confidentiality of student's health and medical information per State and Federal Laws

At Worcester Cultural Academy, our faculty and staff collaborate and support one another and our students through a number of school-wide activities, events and celebrations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and participate in these events, ranging from student and family orientation activities to celebrations of learning to graduation. We work together to support the safe and happy arrival and dismissal of our students, collaborate and plan together and use data to guide decision-making.

Compensation: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
