Worcester Cultural Academy is seeking a talented individual to serve as a SPED Instructional Aide for grades K-5. The successful candidate will possess experience working in diverse schools with English Language Learners and students with disabilities, classroom management expertise, and a passion for pioneering collaborative curriculum development set at a living history museum.

About the School
Worcester Cultural Academy Charter Public School opened in 2023 and serves 190 students in grades kindergarten through fifth. We believe in hands-on learning that focuses on three levels of student achievement: mastery of knowledge and skills, character, and high-quality work. Our school’s habits of character, which define our culture, are courage, collaboration, stewardship, perseverance, and high-quality work.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*Provide individualized and small group instruction to special education students under the direct supervision of the certified Special Educator.
*Collaborate and communicate with the Classroom Teacher and Special Educator to align instruction to support learning/IEP goals.
*Collect data to document progress on IEP/learning goals, as directed by the Special Educator and Classroom Teacher.
*Monitor and assist special needs students in the classroom, during special classes, during transitions, at recess, on field trips, and in other settings.
*Assist Classroom and Special Educators in the administration of all mandated state and district assessments, under the direct supervision of the Special Educator.
*Assist the Special Educator in reviewing and updating student IEP current performance levels, goals, and objectives.
*Participate in IEP Reevaluation and Annual review Team meetings, as deemed appropriate by the Special Educator.
*Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct about information that is confidential in nature.
*Share information only when recipients’ right to access is established and sharing of such information is in the best interest of the student, per MA DESE, Federal, and District guidelines.
*Build and maintain a safe, fair, and respectful learning environment that celebrates the diversity of the student population.
*Maintain/enhance teaching skills by attending, and, where appropriate, participating in the development of continuing education programs.
*Perform relevant tasks and duties assigned by the Head of School and Special Education Coordinator.

School-wide professional meetings happen before the start of the school year and throughout. All staff are encouraged and expected to participate in school-funded professional development opportunities during the school year and over the summer as approved by the Head of School.
Compensation: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
