Are you passionate about education and eager to make an impact? Worcester Cultural Academy Charter Public School (WCA) is seeking a talented Substitute Teacher to join our dynamic team! This is an exciting opportunity to support diverse learners in an innovative, hands-on learning environment.
We are looking for culturally competent educators who have experience working with English Language Learners (ELLs) and students with IEPs and 504 plans. As a founding school member, you’ll collaborate with staff, families, and students to create an inclusive, engaging, and inspiring educational experience.

Opened in August 2023, WCA is an EL (Expeditionary Learning) Education charter school serving grades K-5 in Worcester. We believe in hands-on, real-world learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. Through partnerships with local cultural institutions like the EcoTarium, Worcester Art Museum, and Hanover Theater, we provide immersive, project-based learning opportunities that inspire creativity, critical thinking, and leadership.

◆ What You’ll Do◆
✔ Implement lesson plans, classroom routines, and curriculum objectives.
✔ Foster a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
✔ Support students with diverse needs, including ELLs and students with IEPs/504 plans.
✔ Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunch areas, and school grounds.
✔ Maintain attendance records and ensure students are always supervised.
✔ Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration.
✔ Participate in school-wide activities, celebrations, and professional development.
◆ What We’re Looking For◆
✓ Required: Associate’s degree (or higher).
✓Experience working in diverse educational settings.
✓ Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and classroom management.
✓ Proficiency with Microsoft and Google applications.
✓ Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
✓Passion for fostering a nurturing, culturally responsive learning environment.
