Description of the position or the program:
The Worcester Public Schools is seeking an outstanding Spanish educator for the full-time position of Middle School Spanish at Sullivan Middle School. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptionally strong skills as an educator and language fluency. The successful candidate will exhibit dynamic interpersonal skills to motivate and engage students.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities)
1.Responsible for the development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and competencies.
2.Responsible for the integration of the department’s curriculum where appropriate.

4.Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.MA DESE Licensure in Middle School Spanish
2.SEI endorsement
3.Demonstrated a mastery of content area knowledge
4.Undergraduate or graduate course work in Spanish
5.Demonstrated ability to provide rigorous expectations for students
6.Willingness to participate in targeted professional development in content area and technology
7.Demonstrated understanding of using and analyzing data to drive instruction
8.Demonstrated ability to use formative and summative assessments
9.Ability to work collaboratively with others
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs
2.Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition
WORK YEAR: 184 days
SALARY: Salary scale shown is based on the candidate holding a Bachelor's Degree. Potential to increase based on degree level
