Responsibilities:
The Principal Clerk provides critical administrative and clerical support for various departments within the WHA. In this role, you will:
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents and staff,
- Process paperwork, draft letters and documents, calculate and/or recertify rents, organize and manage files, make copies, and answer telephone calls.
- Greet and assist clients and visitors in person, on the phone, and via email.
- Compile data and information, prepare reports, and support the needs of your assigned department.
- Perform similar duties, tasks, and projects, as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred but not required.
- Experience in Office experience.
- Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills, including good spelling and grammar.
- High level of integrity and empathy; ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Attention to detail; ability to multi-task while staying organized and working under deadlines.
- Adept at using Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. Ability to quickly learn other software programs.
- Excellent grasp of the English language (reading, writing, and speaking). Bilingual candidates are preferred, particularly Spanish speakers.
- Competent with calculation of basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and the calculation of percentages.
- Pleasant and calm demeanor, particularly under pressure. Superior customer service skills are a must.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work cooperatively and pleasantly with a diverse population.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn, be accountable, and strive for success.
- Ability to be relied upon to be available for work.

Pay: $22.97 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 – 40 per week
