Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports Camps
Principal Responsibilities:
SCHEDULE: SUNDAY TO THURSDAY SEPT THROUGH MID JUNE
MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY MID JUNE THROUGH AUGUST
Reports to the Physical Education/ Sports, & Fitness departments.
Under the direction of the Health and Physical Education and the Fitness Department Directors, implements competitive and recreational sports and fitness programming at the JCC.
This will include (but is not limited) to supporting and managing programs, researching, planning, organizing, and implementing programs, clinics, recreational & competitive leagues, camps & classes.
Does outreach to build attendance and participation.
Manages consumer registrations and associated customer relationship management (CRM) databases.
Teaches physical education classes with participants including preschool age, children, teens and adults. (Certification is required but can be obtained after hire with the right candidate.)
Manages and oversees the gym, youth basketball, pickleball, the fitness center as scheduled and provides coverage for others as needed within regular schedule.
Works with other departmental, finance, marketing and membership team staff members to achieve mutual goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of anatomy & physiology is a plus.
Sport and Fitness and group exercise specialists are a fit with this position.
General recreational, as well as competitive sports interests should be demonstrated by applicants.
BA a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with special attention to the needs of parents and children. Must have excellent member relations skills .
