Job Description Summary
Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) offers a wide range of summer programs focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for students in grades 7-12. Our academic programs bring over 1,000 students to campus. Programs are one to four weeks in length, both day and residential. We offer programs such as aerospace engineering, biology, chemistry, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, and more! We also offer sports camps throughout the summer for students in grades 2-12, which are run in partnership with Athletics. Please see more information about our programs: www.wpi.edu/ summer.
The Office of Pre-collegiate Outreach Programs is seeking to hire nurses to deliver the health care for summer academic programs and sports camps with participants in grades 2-12. Responsibilities include nursing care, health teaching, triage, and data collection/verification of health forms. Nurses work autonomously, staffing the Summer Nurse Office and providing care as needed.
Job Description
All applicants require excellent interpersonal skills, good judgement, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A successful nurse will also exhibit a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and an interest to work with participants and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Hours include daytime, evening, overnight, and weekend hours. Overnight hours include a private area for sleeping. Number of hours per week is flexible, usually 24-40.
