Worcester Preparatory School is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Manager. The Operations and Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining the physical school facilities in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness, and safety, to provide full educational use of them. The Operations and Maintenance Manager will supervise the maintenance and custodial staff whose major responsibility is to provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient building in which to learn, play, and develop.

Duties:
Ø Collaborate with Business Manager and Director of Human Resources for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs.
Ø Manage projects related to the maintenance of campus facilities.
Ø Coordinate schedules for athletic and special school event operations and assist with preparations for those events, including events after normal school hours and on weekends.
Ø Supervise, maintain and participate in the overall general maintenance, upkeep and repair of the campus.
Ø Assume responsibility for the general security and fire safety of the school buildings including being available to fire and police departments on a 24-hour call basis when the building or ground alarms sound.
Ø Perform frequent cleaning audits of custodial staff.
Ø Supervise and participate in necessary painting and general repairs; including but not limited to snow removal, plumbing, and electrical/
Ø Report all accidents and/or potential hazards to the Business Manager or Director of Human Resources immediately.
Ø Attend in-service training (e.g., MOSHA, A.H.E.R.A., cleaning solvents, floor care, first aid, etc.) for the purpose of receiving information on new and/or improved procedures.
Ø Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met.
Ø Comply with and support school regulations and policies and follow local, state, and OSHA regulations in coordination with the Director of Human Resources.
Ø Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient, effective functioning of the work unit.
Qualifications:
Ø High school diploma or equivalent.
Ø Five (5) years of building and grounds operations, maintenance, and supervisory experience preferred.
Ø A strong incumbent for this position possesses the following:
o Knowledge of maintenance work, electrical, painting, drywall, plumbing, and carpentry.
o Ability to lead, supervise and train employees on proper facilities maintenance.
o Ability to identify and recommend solutions in reference to the maintenance and cleaning of school facilities.
o Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) and knowledge of computer and internet search engines.
o Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to prioritize, multi-task projects with equal priority, work as part of a team and anticipate work.
o Ability to meet deadlines and respond to sensitive matters and/or situations with discretion, tact, and confidentiality.
Must complete a Maryland CJIS background check prior to beginning employment.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
