SUBJECT: Financial Analyst
REPORTS TO: Administrative Director of Finance
This position will support the Finance Division by assisting in the management of district funds. This position will be responsible to provide strong analytical and advanced data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Responsible to conduct advanced analysis of financial data, including revenue, expenditures, and other data measures to identify trends and anomalies.
2. Ability to utilize data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create interactive dashboards and reporting that effectively communicates district data.
3. Ability to conduct scenario analysis to assess impacts on district financials.
4. Collaborate with district departments to better understand financial needs and provide data-driven solutions to existing challenges.
5. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data by conducting regular data quality checks and implementing data validation procedures.
6. Responsible for performing other duties as assigned by the Administrative Director of Finance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, public administration, or related field.
2. Must be able to demonstrate advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, as well as Google applications.
3. Demonstrate strong financial and quantitative interests, skills, and abilities.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as attention to accuracy and detail.
5. Motivated with the ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master’s degree in finance, public administration, or related field.
2. 3 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar role.
3. Experience with Workday Enterprise Management Software.
4. Experience with data visualization tools. (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
5. Experience working with municipal financial departments in the use of automated municipal fiscal management systems and knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.
WORK YEAR: Full-year position (Non-Represented)
WORK DAY: Full-time work schedule; 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
