Spanish/English or Portuguese/English proficiency requiredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR TEACHERS: 1. Teaching experience in the content area. 2. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs 3.
Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African language. 4. Experience teaching students who are English language learners 5. Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition.

Candidates who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years). Responsible for forwarding to parents the Parental Notification letter indicating placement in the Bilingual Program and for securing principals signature on the Transitional Bilingual Education program card (salmon colored).4. Responsible for affixing LAU sticker and securing principals signature to students cumulative record.5.
Responsible for insuring that cumulative records of students transferring within the Worcester Public Schools are complete and contain the following: ESL Checklist and IDEA pre-test booklet. Workbooks should be forwarded when applicable.6. Responsible for serving as an interpreter, when needed.7.
