Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital is seeking a Complaints Fact Finder.
The Complaints Fact Finder provides support for the Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital Complaints and Performance Improvement Departments. The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct fact-findings/administrative resolutions in accordance with 104 CMR 32. This position maintains the documentation of the complaint review process and is responsible for ensuring reporting responsibilities in accordance with DMH regulations, Directives, policies and protocols. Data collection, compilation, and analysis, including trending are an important aspect of this position.
This position will be responsible for interviewing a variety of parties included but not limited to: people currently served by DMH with a variety of diagnoses; psychiatrists; patient family members; other mental health providers. Candidates will be expected to work in an inpatient psychiatric unit environment.
Please Note: The schedule for this position is 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with Saturday and Sunday off.
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
- Conducts fact-finding investigations, reconsideration and appeal reviews in accordance with 104 CMR 32.
- Drafts reports and decision letters for review.
- Enters data in the statewide system and completes all entries as additional information is received.
- Enters data into appropriate databases/excel worksheets.
- Tracks due dates for decision letters, appeal, investigation/fact-finding reports and follow-up actions.
- Functions as a team member of the Complaints/PI Departments.
- Assists with staff trainings related to incident and complaint reporting and ten day fact-finding.
- As a member of the PI team, assists with compiling, organizing, analyzing and trending data.
- Engages in auditing activities related to compliance with multiple sources such as DMH and Joint Commission/CMS standards.
- Identifies performance improvement activities and may be asked to be lead PI teams.
- Serves as member of committees as assigned/appointed.
- Carries out and performs related duties and tasks as requested/assigned.
About Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH):
Located on over 20 acres in Worcester, Massachusetts, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) is part of an integrated network of effective, efficient, and culturally competent mental health services. It provides intermediate and long-term inpatient care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness who live in Massachusetts, as well as individuals requiring specialized court ordered evaluations.
WRCH provides inpatient services to 290 adults and 30 adolescents, inclusive of a Deaf Inpatient Mental Health Service program for 10 patients.
