Merchandise Hawkers must have a passion for WooSox Baseball and enthusiasm for actively advertising our merchandise to fans of all ages. Job Summary:
The Worcester Red Sox are recruiting friendly and motivated salespeople to be a part of the Merchandise Team for the 2025 baseball season. Merchandise Hawkers must have a passion for WooSox Baseball and enthusiasm for actively advertising our merchandise to fans of all ages. Successful hawkers love to entertain and can transfer high energy into sales!
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Pitching and selling a variety of products to our fans throughout the ballpark in a mobile capacity
- Understanding inventory selection and promotional schedule
- Providing feedback to and working with management to ensure the best products are being offered during an event
- Answer general fan questions about the team and ballpark, directing fans in a helpful way.
- At times, may assist in basic store operations or staff coverage in the Team Store, backroom, and other auxiliary store locations in and around the park
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed, such as filling in at other positions in the Team Store Minimum
Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn how to operate a computer, cash register and POS devices
- Must be able to work most games, especially Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the each homestand
- Ability to work under pressure with a constant high-level of energy
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, while carrying merchandise and handheld POS equipment
- Ability to lift 20 pounds
- Ability to speak loudly in crowded and noisy areas
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual, multilingual, and/or fluent in ASL
Compensation: $15/hour, plus commission, when applicable
