OFFICIAL TITLE: Staff Associate, Experiential Learning Coordinator (Grant-Funded)
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director, Career Development Center
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Part-time student employees and interns assigned to the area.
General Statement of Duties: The Experiential Learning Coordinator will serve as a key liaison between the Career Development Center (CDC) and academic departments at Worcester State University. This is a full-time, 12-month position responsible for identifying and facilitating experiential learning opportunities, including internships, co-ops, and similar programs. The coordinator will ensure these opportunities are accessible to students and will systematically collect and analyze data on student participation and outcomes. This data will be used to support the university's recruitment efforts, enhance academic and career advising, and contribute to the overall student experience. This is a grant funded, temporary appointment.
Responsibilities:

- (E) Collaborate with academic departments to gather information on available internships, co-ops, and other experiential learning opportunities.
- (E) Engage with students on experiential learning opportunities available and ensuring they have the information and support needed to apply.
- (E) Track and analyze data on the number and types of internships completed by students. Compile reports on experiential learning outcomes for use by the Career Development Center, Binienda Center, academic departments, and the Admissions Office.
- (E) Collaborate with the Admissions Office to provide data and insights to enhance recruiting efforts by showcasing the strength of Worcester State University's experiential learning programs.
- (E) Assist students in navigating the application process for internships and other opportunities, offering guidance and advice as needed.
- (E) Develops resources and materials that can be used by the campus community in support of experiential learning.
- (E) Create standardized guides and toolkits for faculty and staff to support experiential learning initiatives.
- (E) Establishes and nurtures relationships with local and regional employers to expand the range of experiential learning opportunities.
- (E) Assist with CDC events, including career fairs, orientation sessions, and admissions programs.
- (E) Updates and monitors experiential learning opportunities in Handshake, 12Twenty, or other web-based platforms.
- (E) Collaborates with the CDC Corporate Engagement team to identify employers offering internships aligned with academic programs.
- (E) Serves on the CDC Advisory Board and other WSU boards/committees to advocate for and promote experiential learning opportunities across campus.
- (E) Partners with the Binienda Center to align internship opportunities, volunteer work, and community-based projects.
- (E) Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
- (E) Works some nights and weekend hours to assist with campus events, including, but not limited to, student programming, orientations, and admissions events.
- (E) Demonstrates civility and professional, customer-service oriented behavior, worthy of emulation by other staff and students.
- (E) Responsible for contributing to the WSU Strategic Plan.

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- At least one year of direct service experience with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, employers, and students.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and listening skills.
- Ability to interact with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff.
- Ability to successfully pass a thorough background check and CORI check.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree.
- Professional experience in career services, higher education administration, or a related field.
- Experience in developing partnerships with community organizations to create experiential learning opportunities, including internships, volunteer work, and civic engagement projects.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (grant-funded), benefited, exempt, professional APA position. The firm annual salary for this position is $65,000.
