TITLE: STEM Program Liaison

General Statement of Duties:
The Program Liaison will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating program activities, supporting LEI’s after-school high school Program Coordinator in the implementation of the program and related activities, and, specifically, in planning, coordinating, and implementing all the tasks related to the AVANZA STEM Expo, which will be celebrated in April/May at WSU. The candidate needs to be sure LEI complies with Expo grant requirements and fosters communication between the different stakeholders. Specifically, the candidate will also be responsible for identifying, contacting, and recruiting participants for the Expo, both speakers/professors and students, and for administering the assessment tool to evaluate the results of the Expo. The candidate will also be the primary point of contact for any event coordination and stakeholder engagement and will be responsible for writing progress and final event reports (templates will be provided).
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Support high school program coordination by assisting with assigned tasks related to program activities and participant engagement.
2. Organize and execute the AVANZA STEM Expo for middle and high school students, ensuring alignment with the Expo Grant Agreement.
3. Plan event logistics, coordinate with public schools, recruit and manage presenters, and promote the STEM Expo to maximize student participation.
4. Assist in planning, implementing, and following up on the Youth Summit and additional program events, workshops, or activities.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with schools, industry partners, organizations, and funders to support the STEM Expo, LIDER YCU, and other initiatives.
6. Ensure all LEI middle and high school students attend and actively participate in the STEM Expo.
7. Serve as a mentor and resource for program participants, providing guidance and access to opportunities for success.
8. Manage grant-related documentation for the STEM Expo, including tracking quantifiable metrics, milestones, and budget alignment.
9. Collaborate with the LEI Data Analyst to collect and assess event data, surveys, and participant feedback for continuous improvement.
10. Evaluate the success of the STEM Expo with the LEI Data Analyst and incorporate feedback for future improvements.
11. Prepare and submit a final progress report for the STEM Expo by July 10, 2025, or within one month of program conclusion, detailing metrics, success stories, milestones, and the final invoice.

14. Ensure all program activities align with approved budgets and project scopes.
15. Provide logistical and administrative support across program areas, including managing communications, materials, and resources.
16. Represent the organization in community events and partnerships as assigned.
17. Perform other duties as needed to support program success.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree with 2- 3 years of experience in education, STEM fields, or event coordination, or currently enrolled as a graduate student in a related program, and I would like to gain valuable experience and have a part-time job.
2. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
3. Strong knowledge of the Worcester Latine community, with a focus on education and STEM initiatives for middle and high school students.
4. Staff supervision experience.
5. Reliable access to transportation.
