Teacher: Allied Health/Nursing - Chapter 74 Vocational Education Program
Worcester Technical High School, a blue ribbon technical vocational school is soliciting applications for the 2022-2023 school year. The successful applicant will be accountable for teaching students the Health Assisting/Nursing Chapter 74 Career Vocational Technical Education (CVTE) state frameworks and curriculum disciplines under the direction of the Allied Health/Nursing Department Head at Worcester Technical High School.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities)
1. Responsible for the development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and competencies.
2. Responsible for the integration of the department’s curriculum where appropriate.

4. Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Massachusetts DESE teacher’s Licensure (Chapter 74) in Nurse Assisting 9-14
2. Evidence of mastery of a wide variety of teacher competencies and the understanding of instructional techniques.
3. Registered nurse (RN) currently licensed
4. Strong background in, clinical, emergency room and hospital care.
5. Working knowledge of computer applications in the health industry
6. Evidence of supervisory experience for Health Care Industry operations.
7. 3 years of recent (within 7 years) of full time employment related to health assisting.
8. Bachelors Degree
9. SEI Endorsement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Nursing experience to include 1 year of Long term Care experience.
2. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.
3. Ability to speak speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African Language
4. Experience teaching students who are English language learners
5. Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition.
6. Candidates who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years). Candidates will need to apply for and pay for the DESE license as a condition of employment.
SALARY: Salary scale shown is based on the candidate holding a Bachelor's Degree. Potential to increase based on degree level
