Job Description:
The Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management will lead and inspire a talented team of professionals and partner with other leaders and stakeholders within the school to ensure that the strategic direction and vision of the school is reflected in the outreach, recruitment, retention, enrollment, and retention of students.
This visionary leader will be asked to fully engage the internal community in the enrollment effort, while repositioning Worcester Academy to agents, organizations, and prospective families. Working with the Communications office, the Director will evaluate the effectiveness of the current communications efforts and develop a data-driven plan to grow new markets. The Director will work with the Academic Leadership Group to define and clarify academic readiness standards for all applicants.
Ideal candidates should have a minimum of five years of admissions or enrollment management experience in the field of K-12, higher education, or educational nonprofit.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of admission and re-enrollment for 540 students; and establish specific enrollment goals for each division and for the overall breakdown of the student community.
- Develop a strategic admissions blueprint and corresponding goals that provide relevant and measurable outcomes.
- Utilize data and research to develop national and international recruitment strategies and travel schedules.
- With the Communications Director, conceptualize and implement traditional and inbound marketing, communication, and existing strategies. Redesign where appropriate, existing communication for better alignment with our programming.
- With the CFO, provide enrollment estimates which will inform the annual budgeting process.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with area schools, consultants, admissions directors and organizations and create networking opportunities with them that will attract appropriate students.
- Communicate effectively in all settings including large speaking engagements and difficult personal conversations.
- Provide direction for the Director of Financial Aid and oversee the financial aid effort and budget.
- Engage in the Academy’s full program and be present at school events.
- Understand and promote all programs—academics, arts, athletics, boarding, and community outreach--for the purpose of recruiting Mission-appropriate students who can meaningfully impact the Academy.
- Develop strong relationships with all internal departments; assign liaisons to key departments and monitor those partnerships; Partner with coaches on recruiting efforts.
- Share and promote the school’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Lead the school’s retention efforts and manage a school wide retention committee
- Administer end-of-season surveys to students who enroll and those who decline to enroll.
- Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and report quarterly to the Board of Trustees.
