Word of Life is looking for a ministry-minded, spiritually mature man to serve as the Dean of Men at the Florida Bible Institute. The Dean of Men provides the leadership and atmosphere so that male students can be biblically discipled and encouraged to bear fruit in their relationship with one another and with Christ. Primary responsibilities include oversight of dorm leadership, student discipleship, counseling, restorative discipline, and student life services for all male students. This is a salaried position with a minimum 3-year commitment to begin July 1, 2025.
The Dean of Men is responsible to ensure that the Purpose Statement of the Student Life Department is carried out for the benefit of all male Bible Institute students.

Core Responsibilities
The Dean of Men provides oversight in the following areas for all male students unless otherwise indicated in consultation with the Dean of Women.
- Discipleship and Spiritual Growth
- Oversee the Resident Director(s).
- Ensure recruitment, selection, and training.
- Facilitate spiritual growth through personal discipleship.
- Ensure goal-setting, empowerment, accountability, and annual evaluation.
- Oversee a responsive Resident Assistants program.
- Ensure recruitment, selection, and training.
- Teach the RA Leadership class in cooperation with the Dean of Women.
- Be available to meet with RAs as needed for counsel and guidance.
- Coordinate the discipleship program.
- Recruit disciplers and link to students.
- Assist with accountability for the disciplers.
- Assist in the accumulation of discipleship resources and guides.
- Chapels and devotions.
- Coordinate small group chapels.
- Oversee and speak in split chapels as needed.
- Participate in a monthly evening Campus Community chapel.
- Ensure oversight of the Christian Disciplines program, including off-campus students.
- Counseling and Discipline
- Be available to counsel with students regarding their spiritual, physical, and social needs.
- Coordinate additional counseling services as needed.
- Be available to assist camp leadership in matters relating to students.
- Ensure that disciplinary measures are carried out when needed in keeping with Student Life Philosophy and published policies and procedures.
- Maintain adequate documentation of all disciplinary interventions.
- Ensure adequate follow-up of disciplinary measures.
- Be available to serve as a Title IX Investigator.
- Student Life Services
- Admissions and registration
- Review and approve prospective students with special needs.
- Interview prospective students who have an “Issues Form.”
- Provide an adequate response to requests for accommodations (special arrangements) for students with disabilities in consultation with the Academic Department and in keeping with available resources.
- Assist with student registration and orientations.
- Housing
- Review incoming student files for housing purposes.
- Assign dorm housing for RDs and students.
- Manage dorm and mailbox keys in consultation with the Dean of Women.
- Assign housing for RA training and graduation.
- Ensure weekly dorm inspections.
- Ensure proper use of the work order system for housekeeping and maintenance.
- Activities and events
- Ensure regular opportunities for recreational staff-student and student-student interaction.
- Ensure adequate supervision of the Student Council and the Student Lounge.
- Assist with graduation.
- Approve special permissions in consultation with Academics and Ministries.
- Ensure that withdrawal and dismissal procedures are properly carried out.
- Ensure adequate correspondence and personal references for graduating students.
- Assist camp leadership in assigning students to counselor positions.
- Ensure that the Student Life portion of the Student Handbook is kept current in consultation with the New York campus.
- Perform an annual SWOT analysis of the Student Life Department for the purpose of assessment and strategic planning.

- Characterized by integrity and confidentiality.
- Possessing or pursuing a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- A graduate of the 1st or 2nd year of the Word of Life Bible Institute preferred.
- Ability to use standard office technology efficiently (Outlook, Excel, Word).
