YOUTH DANCE COACH POSITION
Work ED is hiring dance coaches to join our team based in the Fresno School District, working on site at local elementary & middle schools. This position will support our current program.
Join our incredible Work ED career discovery team and support students in Kindergarten through 8th grade in learning about the world of dance! This is a part-time, hybrid role that will involve 20% classroom curriculum and 80% dance. The schedule is very adjustable to fit your availability and the needs of your assigned school site. You will be teaching a variety of dance forms, including lyrical, hip-hop, jazz, and contemporary. The essential components of this role are teamwork, creativity, and high energy optimistic attitude.
POSITION DETAILS
- Location: Supporting our program in the Fresno School District.
- Paid Training Date: A training date will be announced once the positions are filled.
- Program Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Part-Time Hours
- Hybrid of 20% classroom instruction and 80% dance instruction
- Compensation: $28.00 an hour
- Contract Type: 1099 contractor
POSITION EXPECTATIONS
- Support the Work ED team and your school’s students throughout the weeks of learning dance
- Build and maintain positive relationships with school staff, leadership, and students
- Be flexible in supporting other school sites and peers when needed
- Complete 20% of classroom curriculum instruction as scheduled
- Mandatory Requirements: Background check and Dance Safety and Liability form

QUALIFICATIONS
You are a great candidate if you have:
- Availability Monday through Friday between 2pm and 6pm (with some flexibility)
- Experience as a current or previous dance coach, dance team coach, youth mentor, or similar
- A passion for helping students discover their love of dance
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
- The ability to listen effectively and understand students, parents, and educators’ needs
- A high school diploma or equivalent and either two years of college (48 units) or a local assessment of instructional knowledge
