The Senior Director of Operations will lead and oversee all production and supply chain management aspects for a multi-site baked goods manufacturing organization.
This key leadership role focuses on achieving operational excellence across five facilities while ensuring alignment with the company's quality, safety, and efficiency goals. The Senior Director of Operations, who reports to the Vice President of Operations, oversees production, maintenance, scheduling, sanitation, and warehouse operations and manages safety, quality assurance, human resources, and other related areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes manufacturing strategies to enhance competitive advantage and profitability.
- Manage daily operations of manufacturing plants to ensure safety, quality, cost efficiency, and personnel standards are consistently met.
- Encourage and support the development of individuals to ensure a smooth transition in leadership.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, positive engagement, and employee empowerment.
- Develop and execute continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives, focusing on on-time delivery, labor productivity, cost reduction, and overall margin improvement.
- Promotes a strong health and safety culture that complies with regulations and encourages employees to reduce the injury rate.
- Ensure all locations comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with Plant Managers and Human Resources to continuously assess opportunities for enhancing teamwork while nurturing leaders at all levels.
- Oversees the creation and execution of TPM strategies that enhance operational performance while collaborating with other divisions to create actionable plans for overall improvement.
- Accountable for the financial performance of plant operations by preparing the annual manufacturing budget, analyzing the costs of plant improvements, and leading initiatives for cost improvement.
- Ability to collaborate with various departments, including but not limited to Cost Accounting, Purchasing, Research and Development, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Environmental Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, and Information Services.
- Assist Warehouse and Distribution operations to ensure 100% on-time delivery of goods to our customers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possess working knowledge of and experience in implementing and maintaining SQF Level III Certification within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes within baking operations.
- A strong background in HACCP, safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and AIB standards.
Location:
San Antonio, TX, is preferred. You may consider living near one of the other sites they manage in Bryan, TX, Kansas City, MO, Jackson, MS, or St Paul, MN.
Salary : $215,000 - $230,000
