JOB TITLE: Job Coach - Contract Services
LOCATION: Honolulu, HI
TYPE: At will
SHIFT: Monday - Friday up to 8 hours per day, 30-40 hours per week. Weekends as needed.
PAY RATE: $20.00 - $24.00/hour

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Provides on-the-job coaching to individuals with disabilities receiving services within Work Now Hawaii.
- Acts as liaison between client, contract services, and Director of Employment Services to assist employees with disabilities in maintaining employment, raising the service standard, and navigating new job tasks.
- Provides coaching for clients and assists in developing skills. Maintains reporting requirements according to agency, local, state, and federal standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to complete all required training and onboarding programs. Work Now Hawaii will pay for all training programs.
- Within 6 months, complete required training and become ACRE certified.
- Within 18 months, complete required training and become CESP certified.
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Pass yearly TB Test as required by Hawaii Department of Vocational Rehabilitation
- Maintain a current valid driver’s license in accordance with Hawai‘i state law and access to a vehicle if required as part of the staff duties. The vehicle must have current motor vehicle registration, safety check, and insurance.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in human services, social work, or related field is beneficial.
- Language skills: Applicants who are fluent in American Sign Language will be given preferential consideration.
- Experience: Experience working with people with disabilities is highly preferred. Experience conducting employer outreach or building connections to businesses is helpful.
- Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 40 pounds in order to perform necessary tasks, such as physically assist clients (including wheelchair maneuver). Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours at a time if required by a client’s job position.

- Must be able to secure Military Base access
- Adapt to new workplace environments quickly and effectively.
- Build new professional relationships on a weekly basis.
- Keep calm and redirect clients when appropriate.
- Use assistive technology when needed to communicate with clients
- Creatively problem solve.
- Work weekends and evenings, as needed, based on the client's job schedules.
- Effectively communicate with various stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Must possess own transportation, valid driver’s license, good driving record and proof of vehicle insurance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Contract Services to set up clients for employment success.
- Work to increase the level of service provided by clients across all service locations.
- Navigate the needs of multiple stakeholders across multiple locations.
- Provide group and one-on-one job coaching, training and intervention to individuals with disabilities in their workplaces, with the goal of job retention and increased independence. Model appropriate behavior in the workplace for the client, and coach individuals on how to handle different situations that will arise. Model respectful and dignified interactions with clients to promote positive interactions between clients and coworkers.
- Act as liaison, to the extent needed, between employer, client and Director of Employment Services to provide on-the-job support to client and employer.

- Support client’s growth through participation in collaborative team meetings, service plan meetings, timely incident report filing, and weekly contact notes.

- Is a contributing member of the Employment Services team and attends required team and agency meetings.
