What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Specialist position at Work Services Corporation?

1. Performs preventive maintenance inspections and related repairs on mobile and stationary equipment.
2. Identify, source, and order parts required for repairs. This will be through established or new vendors, or through collaboration with other WSC locations.
3. Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
4. Assist with manufacturing and installation of new equipment as needed.
5. Coordinate with operations to optimize equipment maintenance scheduling and reduce disruptions.
6. Monitors safety aspects relating to facility, equipment, and personnel.
7. Ensures all reports and correspondence relating to the operation are accurately prepared and submitted.
8. Work closely with the production team to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any operational issues.
9. Conduct routine inspections and schedule preventative maintenance in areas such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, overhead cranes, A/C units, lighting, alarm system, etc. Ensure these systems are fully functioning/operational in order to maintain production workflow.
10. Prepare facility during seasonal times (especially around Winter and Summer peak months).
11. Assist in any repairs that may be needed to the facility or grounds.
12. Ensures all requirements of the PWS/SOW are met.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position is responsible for the supervision and oversight of employees in the operational facility and may be responsible for the performance management, and discipline of the employees within the operational facility.
Work Environment
This job operates in an operational setting. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions such as extreme heat and / or cold, exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration, and the noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit, and employee is required to talk and hear, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms, sit, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, forty hours per work, occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected for conferences.
Required Education and Experience
1. High school graduates or GED required.
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Possesses intermediate diagnostic/troubleshooting knowledge and skills.
2. Basic knowledge of various equipment used in accordance with the contracts PWS / SOW.
3. Supervisory experience preferred.
Licenses/Work Authorization/Security Clearance
1. Valid Driver’s License with certificate of insurability (corporate auto policy).
2. Drug Screen.
3. WSC background check.
4. Appropriate background check for contract i.e., NACI, TxDOT, DPS.
