What are the responsibilities and job description for the SCA Grounds Maint Wkr - FTS position at Work Services Corporation?

1. Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed,
maintaining a clean and safe work area.
2. Maintains grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property such
as buildings, camp and picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses, and
athletic fields, and repairs structures and equipment, performing one or more of
the following tasks:
a. cut grass, using walking-type mowers (less than 2000 lbs.),
b. trim hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds, and wells, using
hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools,
c. prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears
and other hand tools,
d. sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide.
3. Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs, watering lawn and shrubs
during dry periods, using hose or activating sprinkler system.
4. Picks up and burns or carts away leaves, paper or other litter.
5. Removes snow from walks, driveways, roads, or parking lots, using
shovel and snow blower, and spreads salt on walkways and other areas.
6. Repairs and paints fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and
outbuildings.
7. Assists in repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical
equipment.
8. Cleans comfort stations, offices workshop areas, and parking lots by
sweeping, washing, mopping and polishing.
9. Responsible for properly maintaining equipment.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
The employee will be exposed to traffic. The noise level in the work
environment can be loud. The employee will be exposed to extreme heat and
extreme cold.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand,
and / or sit for long periods of time, being able to reach with hands and arms, and
is frequently required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, or
crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, and
occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Education and Experience
Preferred Education and Experience
5. High school graduate or GED.
6. Basic reading.
7. Basic writing.
8. Experience using hand tools, lawnmowers, weed eaters, edgers,
blower.
Licenses/Work Authorization/Security Clearance
5. Valid Driver’s License with certificate of insurability (corporate auto policy).
6. Drug Screen.
7. Strength Test.
8. WSC background check.
