2nd 4 : 00pm - 3 : 00 am Monday - Friday; Overtime available on Saturday as needed
Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is looking for experienced Industrial Painters / and Material Loaders. The Industrial Painter / and Material Loader role is responsible for preparing and painting steel components, as well as loading materials for shipment. This role requires proficiency in industrial painting techniques, material handling, and adherence to safety standards to ensure the quality and timely delivery of fabricated steel products.
Responsibilities
- Utilize overhead cranes and lifting devices to position materials for painting.
- Ensure materials are marked with appropriate paint colors and no-paint zones.
- Clean surfaces by sweeping or blowing off debris to prepare for painting.
- Check and load the correct paint color / type into spray equipment.
- Apply paint to materials, flipping them as necessary to ensure complete coverage.
- Stack painted materials in a staging area for loading.
- Use an elcometer to test paint thickness twice per shift and document results.
- Verify pieces to be loaded using the "Pieces Not Shipped" list.
- Mark off loaded pieces on the list.
- Band, box, and shrink-wrap materials to ensure safe loading and unloading.
- Cut, carry, and stack 4x4 wood dunnage.
- Load trailers up to 45,000 pounds safely, using overhead cranes and lifting devices.
- Submit completed "Finished Left to Load" or "Pieces Not Shipped" lists to the plant manager.
