The Roofing Mechanic will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in roofing construction, excellent technical skills, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
Role and Responsibilities
- Roofing Installation and Repair:
- Handles the maintenance, repairs, and installation of commercial and residential roofing systems
- Be on time for all shifts and ready to go at the assigned time with all personal tools and PPE.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other team members, including Foremen, Crew Members, Superintendents, General Superintendent and Contractors, to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Mentor less-experienced crew members.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients to coordinate project activities and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Assist in setup and tear down of safety equipment as instructed.
- Complete required safety training such as fall protections or OSHA.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail in all roofing projects.
- Conduct quality inspections to verify that rooking systems meet established standards and specifications.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and care for roofing tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to your supervisor promptly.
Qualifications and Education
- Proven experience as a Roofer or Roofing Mechanic, with 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability and comfort working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Able to handle at least 50lbs
Preferred Skills
- Sheet Metal, slate and/or tile experience.
- First Aid/CPR
- OSHA10 or OSHA30
- Works comfortable carrying heavy equipment
- Availability to work within DMV (Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia) area, New York and Pennsylvania areas (occasionally)
