The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Under the direct supervision of the Workers’ Compensation Examiner, the position of Assistant Workers’ Compensation Examiner would encompass but not be limited to the following duties: • Analyze work requests and information received from a variety of sources to update or correct information contained in hearing records; • Utilize CIS Calendaring function to create itinerary, enter calendar exceptions, and verify/adjust the proposed calendar as needed; • Schedule interpreters for hearings where they are required; • Process forms receiving in CIS incoming mail queue(s), making necessary updates to case folders or sending work requests as appropriate;• Respond to stakeholder inquiries received via telephone, electronically or work request by providing requested information in a timely and accurate manner; • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list.ORCandidates must have one year permanent or 55 b/c service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer in accordance with 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.ORIndividuals certified eligible for the 55b/c program under the Governor’s Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55b/c of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. To be considered, you must meet the minimum qualifications and provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.Candidates must have a High school diploma or GED AND one year of full-time general office experience*.*Qualifying experience: General office experience includes tasks such as preparing correspondence, reports, statements and other material; operating office equipment; answering telephones; verifying, recording and processing forms and documents such as contracts and requisitions; and performing general clerical duties according to established procedures.
