The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description • Assists in development of reports.• Recommends improvements to best achieve goals; review and suggest improvements to current or planned systems and processes.• Performs data extraction, aggregation, and quality checks from Microsoft SQL Server, Excel and Access applications• Uses database concepts to test and provide suggestions for databases• Organizes and document meeting minutes• Assists with managing and organizing projects• Assists with managing writing and maintaining procedures• Reviews Claims Information System (CIS) for relevant information to determine fund liability• Reviews requests for funding for medical and indemnity payments associated with Special Fund claims being administered by the Board's contracted Third-Party Administrators (TPAs)• Works with TPAs to ensure proper administration of the claims; Ensure that TPA is meeting contract requirements including timely submission of reports and in their appropriate formats

The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications NY HELPSThis title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.Candidates may be required to serve a two-year traineeship that leads to the SG-18 position. The traineeship would include the SG-14 Trainee1 and SG-16 Trainee 2 positions. After successful completion of the two-year traineeship the incumbent will advance to the SG-18 level.NON-COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Financial Analyst Trainee 1 Workers Compensation (Starting Salary $53,764)- A bachelor's or higher degree.Financial Analyst Trainee 2 Workers Compensation (Starting Salary $59,994)- A bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience in performing financial statement analysis, collateral analysis, reserve analysis, cash flow analysis such as revenue and expenditure forecasting, budget variance analysis and industry analysis to determine repayment ability. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience.Financial Analyst 1 Workers Compensation (Starting Salary $66,951)- A bachelor's and two years of professional experience in performing financial statement analysis, collateral analysis, reserve analysis, cash flow analysis such as revenue and expenditure forecasting, budget variance analysis and industry analysis to determine repayment ability. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience.55 B/C QUALIFICATIONS: Individuals certified eligible for the 55b/c program under the Governor’s Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55b/c of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. To be considered, you must meet the minimum qualifications and provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response. Candidates must meet the non-competitive minimum qualifications listed above.COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: CIVIL SERVICE LIST APPOINTMENT: Candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list.TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer in accordance with Section 52.6, 70.1 OR 70.4 of the Civil Service law.70.4 transfer candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a position allocated to a SG-11 or higher and possess a bachelor’s degree or higher and have standing on the PCO list.
