JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for cleaning and maintaining county right-of-way and properties along designated routes or in response to citizen complaints.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains county property and right-of-way by removing litter and illegally dumped items.
- Responds to complaints from citizens regarding dumpsites; clean the area and monitor future dumping.
- Assists boom truck drivers and other county employees with the bulk item and dumpsite pick up.
- Removal of debris from extreme weather conditions from curbs, ditches, or inlets.
- Interacts with citizens and boom truck drivers in the removal of dumped items and debris.
- Loads and unloads supplies such as trash bags and trash grabbers from trucks.
- Assists boom truck drivers with the removal of trash and carts as needed.
- Removes litter from trucks at the landfill; sorts litter into recyclable products.
- Drives a light-duty pickup truck to pick up litter and transport it to the landfill.

- Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Good knowledge of safety procedures and practices with the use of equipment on sanitation trucks.
- Some knowledge of county right-of-way rules and regulations.
- Ability to understand simple written and oral instructions.
- Ability to work safely within the landfill to avoid injury to self or coworkers.
- Ability to attend work regularly and reliably.
- Skill in the operation of light and medium trucks.
- Skill in the operation of a smartphone.
- Skill in the use of hand tools and light power tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Digital dexterity is necessary for tool use and equipment operation.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 60-80 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

REQUIREMENTS
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and a pre-employment job-related physical.
- In addition to pre-employment checks, employees who operate county vehicles are required to undergo an annual motor vehicle report.
- Must possess or be able to immediately obtain a valid Arkansas Driver’s License.
- This position is safety sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
