We are seeking a Power BI Administrator/Developer with expertise in both the administration and development aspects of Power BI. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of building impactful dashboards and reports, coupled with the ability to manage capacity migrations and optimize data ecosystems. We’re looking for someone proactive, self-driven, and able to work independently without the need for handholding.
Responsibilities
- Power BI Administration:
- Manage and maintain Power BI workspaces, datasets, and dataflows.
- Administer and optimize Power BI Premium and Fabric capacities, ensuring efficient utilization.
- Perform capacity planning, scaling, and migration from Power BI to Fabric capacity.
- Ensure security, compliance, and governance of the Power BI/Fabric environment.
- Troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues within Power BI/Fabric.
- Dashboard and Report Development:
- Design and develop user-friendly, visually impactful dashboards and reports tailored to business requirements.
- Ensure optimal performance of reports by implementing efficient data modeling and DAX calculations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Data Integration and Migration:
- Lead the migration of Power BI capacity to Microsoft Fabric capacity, including planning, execution, and post-migration validation.
- Integrate data from various sources into Power BI/Fabric for centralized reporting.
- Develop and maintain reusable data pipelines and datasets.
- Proactive Collaboration and Innovation:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the BI ecosystem.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI and Fabric features and implement best practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert to train and mentor team members on Power BI/Fabric.
Qualifications
Candidate Profile:
- Experience:
- 5 experiences with Power BI administration.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric capacity, including migration from Power BI capacity.
- 5 experiences in building interactive dashboards, reports, and data models.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of DAX, Power Query, and advanced data modeling techniques.
- Knowledge of Fabric architecture, capacity planning, and optimization.
- Familiarity with Azure Synapse, Data Lake, or other Fabric-related components is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
Preferred Requirements:
- Microsoft certifications in Power BI, Fabric, or related technologies.
- Experience in automating administrative tasks using PowerShell or REST APIs.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and project management tools.
