Summary/Objective
Serves as reception for front desk and resource area. Works independently under the direct supervision of the Business Services Program Manager to provide information/instruction to job seekers individually or in a group to improve their job seeking and retention skills.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Greets customers, acquaints customers with Workforce Center services and programs. Assists customers in accessing services of the Workforce Center including computers, WIT, resume software, career exploration software and various other resource/library materials. Directs traffic at front desk.
- Promote awareness of workforce development services available to job seekers.
- Provides advice/instruction to job seekers regularly that improves the job seekers’ skills in becoming proficient in self-directed job search.
- Refers job seekers to job postings.
- Refers potential clients to BEC for On the Job Training opportunities.
- Maintains resource area/job seeker materials.
- Notifies Business Services staff and Case Manager staff of client arrivals.
- Data enters information into a computer timely and accurately regarding
participant services including job referrals.
- Makes every effort to ensure the security and confidentiality of all types of restricted data.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular attendance is a requirement and an integral part of this position.
Travel
Some travel may be expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- One to two (1-2) years of post secondary education in human services or related field. May substitute at least (1) year of full-time related experience for education.

- Ability to work as a team member
- Excellent computer skills; Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point required
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work with individuals in a professional environment
