General Description
Working under the WSRCA Child Care and Early Learning Program Contract Manager and directly with the contract management team, the CCIS will support the growth, sustainability, and quality of child care programs by providing technical assistance, business support, and resource navigation to child care providers. This role will work closely with providers, community organizations, and stakeholders to strengthen the local child care infrastructure and ensure access to high-quality early learning experiences
The Child Care Industry Specialist will work under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.
The Child Care Industry Specialist is an integral part of our team and will work under the supervision of our WSRCA Child Care and Early Learning Program Contract Manager with a dotted-line hierarchy to our Chief Operations Officer.
Primary Duties
- Provide direct support and consultation to child care providers on business operations, financial sustainability, licensing requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist providers in accessing funding opportunities, grants, and professional development resources.
- Develop and deliver workshops, training, and one-on-one coaching sessions on topics such as financial management, marketing, staffing, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with local businesses, workforce development programs, and community organizations to expand child care options and partnerships.
- Stay informed about state and federal child care policies, industry trends, and best practices to provide up-to-date guidance.
- Advocate for child care providers by participating in community meetings, advisory boards, and policy discussions.
- Collect and analyze data on child care provider needs, challenges, and impact to inform strategic planning and program improvements.
- Support initiatives that promote increased access to affordable, high-quality child care services
- Assist with implementation of the Strategic Plan
- Make presentations, assist with the planning and development of child care events, and the coordination of events with community organizations.
- Conducts outreach, education and technical assistance to assist prospective new childcare providers in understanding requirements, local ordinances, funding opportunities and resource opportunities to create new child care operations.
- Serves as liaison between childcare providers with appropriate state and local officials, social service agencies, and the general public
- Coordinate with other departments as necessary
- Ability to travel locally
General Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, child development, elementary education, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university preferred
- Equivalent education plus progressively responsible experience in the educational or workforce development field will be considered
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities required
- Excellent collaboration, analytical, oral, and written communication, technical writing skills and proficiency in MS office products is required
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Pay: $52,277.00 - $70,000.00 per year
