Job Summary:
The Cold Storage Receiving Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the receipt, inspection, and storage of goods in a cold storage facility. This role ensures that all incoming shipments are accurately processed, properly stored, and meet quality and safety standards. The coordinator works closely with warehouse staff, suppliers, and other departments to maintain efficient operations and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Inspection:
- Coordinate and oversee the receipt of incoming shipments, ensuring that all items are checked against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Inspect goods for damage, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Report discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to suppliers and management, and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
Inventory Management:
- Ensure proper storage of received goods in the cold storage facility, following temperature and handling requirements to maintain product integrity.
- Update inventory records and systems to reflect incoming shipments and storage locations accurately.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and reconciliations to maintain accurate stock levels.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of received shipments, including quantities, conditions, and storage locations.
- Prepare and submit reports on inventory levels, receiving issues, and other relevant metrics to management.
- Ensure all receiving documentation is completed accurately and filed in accordance with company policies.
Coordination and Communication:
- Work closely with warehouse staff, suppliers, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient receiving operations.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to schedule deliveries and manage the flow of incoming goods.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any issues related to shipments or inventory.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to the handling and storage of goods in a cold storage environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to temperature control guidelines and other relevant standards to maintain product quality and safety.
Operational Efficiency:
- Identify and recommend improvements to receiving processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Train and supervise receiving staff as needed to ensure adherence to procedures and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory management role, preferably in a cold storage or refrigerated environment.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and software.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in cold environments and lift or move heavy items as required.
