WELCOME TO WORKHOUSE ARTS
The Workhouse Arts Center is now accepting applications for Camp Staff 2025! Are you
looking for employment during Spring Break or Summer 2025? Do you love art and working with
youth? If you answered, “YES”, then the Youth Arts Camp program might be right for you. We are
searching for enthusiastic Camp Counselors to dedicate their days to groups of campers. Camp
Counselors are role models who assist and encourage campers to learn new skills, overcome
issues, and develop their creative ideas!
This year, we are hosting Spring, Summer and Day Camps for youths aged 6-16. Our
courses will cover Visual Art mediums such as painting, drawing, mixed media, ceramics, and
glass, Music & Dance track featuring vocals and instruments and Theater programs featuring
playwriting, set design, directing and performing. As Camp Staff you have the opportunity to
assist Professional Artists and contribute to the education of young artists. Our camps take place
from 9 am – 4 pm, with extended care for each camp session.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
L ead Camp Counselor
The Workhouse Lead Camp Counselor must be patient, encouraging, and exemplify leadership to
guide both their peers and campers. The Lead Camp Counselor will be responsible for managing
7-10 counselors per session, working with the Camp Coordinator. The Lead Camp Counselor is
expected to be on site from Monday-Friday, 8:30-5 pm for their assigned session dates, in
addition to the occasional pre-and post-camp care. The Lead Camp Counselor may have an
interest in either Visual Arts or Theater Arts, but previous leadership experience is required.
Qualifications, Experience, and Education Requirements
- Counselors must be 18 & older. College-age students that have a background/experience
- Access to reliable transportation and must be able to arrive on time or early.
- Must be American Red Cross certified, or CPR/First Aid trained by the first day of camp.
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Must be able to attend pre-camp training and at least One Full Week Camp.
Compensation
- $14-15/ hour
