Job Summary :
The Head of HSE is responsible for the health and safety of the company's employees and the environment. They create and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Summary of Essential Job Functions :
- Recordkeeping : Implement, modify, and document recordkeeping, making use of online computer technology, and identifying the need to implement other technology if needed.
- Forms and Manuels : Prepare and update forms and manuals personnel and direct work activities.
- Leadership : Coach and teach the safety personnel and field staff, as needed. Provide direct oversight of and annual review of safety personnel.
- Manage Incidents : Investigate accidents and incidents and identify trends to improve safety.
- Team Collaboration : Coordinate and communicate regularly with all departments of the organization to ensure proper safe operations, including accounting, HR / Payroll. and operations. Work collaboratively with other organization professionals to achieve organizational goals. Survey operations to ascertain safety needs and to recommend.
- Manage Emergencies : Respond to health and safety-related issues and manage emergency procedures.
- Manage Staff and Equipment : Ensure health and safety equipment, such as PPE, is provided and used. Hire, manage, and asses the competence of the health and safety team.
- Budget : Manage safety budget.
- Relations : Ensure the relationships with contractors and third-parties remain good.
- AD-Hoc Reporting : Prepare other reports as requested.
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
