What are the responsibilities and job description for the Out of School Youth Specialist position at WorkOne Northern Indiana?
As a Out of School Youth Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support and guidance to young individuals who face significant barriers to education, employment, and career advancement, are not currently enrolled in school and are seeking educational and career opportunities. Your primary objective will be to assist these youth in accessing resources and programs that align with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) guidelines, enabling them to achieve personal and professional success. The Specialist determines eligibility, completes an objective assessment, interprets assessment results, jointly develops Career Pathway Plans, offers training opportunities, and provides work-based learning experiences with a specific emphasis on preparing youth or young adults to be job ready. This position reports to the Out of School Manager. This position requires working with other Managers, School Administrators and Case Managers from various departments in addition to the assigned high schools, Pro Resources and NIWB to ensure the needs of the departments and clients/students are being met.
