Workplace Resource is searching for a Move Supervisor at our Denver office. The Move Supervisor supervises the Move crews and assists with the efficient Move and reconfiguration of systems furniture within clients’ facilities, delivering a high degree of customer satisfaction. Supervises assigned Move projects to ensure proper labor allocation and project completion on time.

 

What You'll Do

The Move Supervisor is responsible for the following results:

  • Supervises and controls the activities of Move crews assigned to a project to ensure proper labor allocation and adherence to the project budget, timely project completion, and the level of customer satisfaction required.

  • Acts within the assigned authority to follow up through field observations to make sure installation crews are dressed properly, adhering to company policies, delivering excellent customer service, reporting, and resolving problems arising on the way to a job site or at a customer site.

  • Ensures timely invoicing of a project by understanding and following all processes, including but not limited to completing paperwork flow from order entry to invoicing, time sheets/time entry, project activity forms, etc., on time.  

  • Ensures that all materials are accounted for a project by checking off products with the delivery shipper; assisting with the loading of the trucks prior to going out to a job site; monitoring overages and shortages throughout the project; reports all damages and product shortages to the Installation Manager.

  • Ensures the project Move is completed accurately by inspecting the finished Move prior to the client inspection and then again with the client to make any final adjustments within assigned authority.

  • Maintains solid business relationships by communicating, problem-solving, and following up regularly with internal partners and customers to their satisfaction. 

  • Maintains compliance by assisting with unloading and proper disposal of waste materials in the proper receptacle or dump; inspects the company’s trucks, completes the inspection form, and turns it into the appropriate person; keeps trucks clean.

  • Safely drives a straight and cubed truck following all local, state, and DOT regulations.

  • Assist with training and instructing Movers and temporary help/trainee employees on the proper way to handle, move, and place customers' products.

A successful Move Supervisor will cultivate business relationships with other departments within Workplace Resource and provide positive and effective representation to our business's internal and external customers.

 

Educational and experience position requirements

A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

 

What we expect you already know

  • Working in a similar position in furniture Moves while supervising move crews and subcontractors

  • Understanding basic electricity and systems computer electrical component installation

  • Physical ability to load and unload boxes or products with a weight in excess of 50 pounds as well as climb stairs, be on feet the majority of the day, bend, knee, push and pull product

  • Demonstrates a high level of organization and project management skills, the ability to coordinate multiple responsibilities, understanding the importance of doing quality work, adhering to standards to prevent errors, and working effectively with a high-volume workload to reach the desired results.

  • Setting the example as it relates to dependability, flexibility, and adaptability by fulfilling commitments consistently and reliably and being able to change course swiftly and purposefully when the needs of the business change.  Must be available to work irregular hours and extended shifts.

  • Communicating professionally and effectively by interacting in a clear and compelling way that builds understanding and commitment with a wide range of people, both within and outside the company.

  • Setting the example as it relates to creating teamwork, collaboration, and customer focus by building and sustaining productive working relationships across a diverse spectrum of people.

  • Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screening, and DOT physical/lift test (if applicable)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a background check that adheres to our various clientele worksite clearance standards (education, government, healthcare, etc.)

Pursuant to the Colorado Fair Pay Act, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in Colorado.

  • Colorado Starting Salary: $22.00-$25.00 Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)

  • Benefits Offered: Group healthcare benefits, 401k, Paid Sick & Vacation Time, Paid Holidays

Work Context

The position requires working mainly working outdoors. Must be willing and prepared to work in all kinds of weather when loading or unloading products. The environment may be dusty and dirty. Hazards include working around forklifts and occasional exposure to caustic or toxic chemicals. Must be able to travel to various customer work sites and to the company’s remote sites. Physical demands – Work is rated as heavy. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, twist, and operate a forklift. On feet the majority of the day, walking, etc.  Must have good upper body strength to lift continuously 50 lbs. Visual acuity is a combination of near, far, depth perception, color vision, and general field of vision. Fine motor skills to handle the use of small hand tools. Mental abilities – Specialized knowledge in warehousing and construction. Ability to problem-solve and speak English to communicate with customers and employees. Basic math skills to do measurements and some calculations of numbers. Ability to write simple communications. Ability to obtain and maintain a background check that adheres to our various clientele worksite clearance standards (education, government, healthcare, etc.)
