Your Role:
As a Communications Advisor, you will play a key part in shaping and driving communication strategies for both internal and external audiences. You'll conduct stakeholder analyses and craft dynamic strategies to boost awareness of WorkSafeBC's services, goals, and initiatives. Your expertise will shine as you create engaging communication plans and develop compelling materials for print and digital channels. With an eye for detail, you'll ensure consistency, accuracy, and timely delivery, all while thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with internal clients to craft and execute comprehensive communication plans that tackle organizational challenges, mitigate risks, and deliver clear, consistent, and timely information to WorkSafeBC's stakeholders.
Develop and implement creative communication strategies that deepen understanding of WorkSafeBC's services, business goals, and initiatives.
Offer expert recommendations on content, messaging, style, and format to ensure communications resonate with both the department and clients.
Champion plain-language principles in all communications, while introducing fresh approaches to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
Provide expert guidance to editors, web publishers, designers, and multimedia teams to create and launch impactful communication initiatives that drive results.

Communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences both online and in person.
Coach and influence others in developing effective communication skills.
Build strong relationships with people across and outside the organization.
Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on complex and challenging projects, while adapting quickly to emerging circumstances or needs and be flexible in the face of change.
Use the principles and best practices of business communications, including developing and implementing communication plans and strategies.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related discipline.
A minimum of six years of experience working in communications, public affairs, media relations, or writing and/or editing in a government, editorial, or publishing (consumer, academic, corporate, or technical) environment.
