What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Architectural Designer position at Workshop/APD?
We are currently seeking a talented and self-motivated Junior Designer to join our team at Workshop/APD. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of work experience in architectural and interior design projects, demonstrating their creative process in high-end residential and hospitality work. Proficiency in advanced digital modeling and rendering and professional expertise in Revit are essential.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the project team in understanding requirements and contribute to developing innovative design concepts.
- Create visually compelling client presentations to effectively communicate design ideas.
- Source products, materials, and finishes that align with project goals.
- Develop accurate 3D models and renderings of architectural projects and design concepts.
- Prepare detailed working drawings, designs, plans, and models for project execution.
- Be a team player and collaborate effectively with lead designers and project managers to support project deliverables.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Concept Design, Design Development, and Construction Documentation.
- Strong conceptual, graphic, and design skills with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Proficiency in architectural design software, including AutoCAD and/or Revit, Enscape, Rhino, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in SketchUp is considered advantageous though not mandatory.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Position Requirements
- Strong internship experience or 1 - 3 years of work experience in the Architecture or Interior Design industry, particularly in high-end residential, commercial, or hospitality design.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
