Job Description

Position :  Aluminum / Steel Welder (Helms)

Department :  Aluminum / Steel Welding

Reports To :  Responsible Welding Supervisor and the Production Manager

Summary

The welder must have specific appropriate welding knowledge, so that the tasks can be fulfilled. These can be obtained from a combination of theoretical knowledge, training or experience. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to determine the requirements, that the specific tasks can be performed qualitatively by the welder.

Responsibilities

• Quality of the welded products must be according to required regulations.
• Before the beginning of a new contract ensure that all the necessary documents are at the workplace.
• Self-inspection document must be filled out.
• Ensure that all tools are in proper working conditions.

For proper handling with the necessary welding equipment

Cleans and maintains an orderly work area.

Communicates effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow.

Assist other individuals in area when needed.

Perform equipment change-overs.

Responsible for quality of his / her welded welds.

Complete daily production paperwork.

Operate within standard operating procedures.

Perform equipment and tooling Preventative Maintenance as required.

Clean and maintain work area.

Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

Required documents and proper storage

Physical / Medical Requirements

Education Requirement

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

Valid welders test for the necessary welding processes and materials.

Two - Five years’ experience welding, or training from an accredited technical college or adult educational facility.
