Job Overview
WorkSource Oregon is seeking a highly motivated and organized Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to engage residents, businesses, and community organizations in local government decisions and initiatives.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $53,003 to $69,157 per year, with a starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience. Comprehensive benefits include vacation, holidays, sick leave, on-call pay, health insurance choice of Regence or Kaiser, defined benefit retirement plan eligibility at six months, life insurance, and long-term disability after 60 days.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to actively involve residents, businesses, and community organizations in local government decisions and initiatives
- Facilitate communication channels, organize public meetings, conduct outreach programs, and gather feedback to inform policymaking
- Build strong relationships with diverse community groups and stakeholders
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- At least 2 years' experience in outreach, community engagement, and/or communications or a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field
- Knowledgeable in social media platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
- A valid Oregon driver's license and access to a personal vehicle to travel to meetings (mileage reimbursed)
Preferred Qualifications
Graphic design knowledge/experience and public service announcement experience for videos are desirable but not required.
