EMPLOYER SUMMARY
Join the team as a Head Start Family Advocate! This employer is a locally based non-profit organization serving in the counties of Crook, Deschutes, Jefferson, as well as the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. They seek to help families located in Central Oregon meet basic needs like food, shelter, education, skills, and hope for the future. As a Head Start Family Advocate, you'll have the unique opportunity to support and empower families, ensuring that children have the head start they need for a successful future. This position will work in Bend, Oregon and Redmond, Oregon.
REQUIREMENTS
* An associate degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field
* 1 year of experience in social services setting, with family services including knowledge and experience relating to community resources for referrals to families in need of services, or, at least 1 year experience working within a Head Start Classroom, or proof of enrollment in a HDFS Human Services Program
* Valid driver's license and proof of valid insurance, this position may be required to travel to parents' homes for meetings
* Current enrollment in the OR Office of Childcare Central Background Registry (CBR)
PREFERENCES
* Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field
* 2 or more years of experience working in a Head Start program preferred
* Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
* Frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and sitting on the floor to attend to children's needs
JOB DUTIES
* Works with identified families to promote asset development, family wellness, family partnerships and parent involvement in the program
* Operates as a liaison between classroom and home settings and as a liaison between families and other non-profit programs and community services
* Consultation, support and mentoring program staff
* Works as a member of the ERSEA (Enrollment, Recruitment, Selection, Eligibility and Attendance) team
HOURS
* Monday - Friday
* 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
* Occasionally will need to work some early mornings, evenings, or weekends
PAY
* $26.47 per hour (plus $.50 for Bilingual English/Spanish)

* Required to obtain Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days of hire and maintain throughout employment
