What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shuttle Bus/Van Driver position at WorkSource Oregon?
The Bus/Van Operator is the heart and soul of the public transportation program. This position performs a safety-sensitive role while operating agency vehicles to provide transportation for individuals who have difficulty accessing regular public transportation and members of the public. Helping all riders live independent, quality lives by providing them access to necessary
community services.
Job requirements:
- Valid Class C license or higher
- At least 1 year driving experience
Job Duties:
- Provide great customer service and to assist riders as needed.
- Inspecting the bus pre- and post-trip; maintaining a clean and orderly bus.
- Driving safely along designated routes and obeying traffic laws and regulations.
- Participate in all required trainings and meetings.
- Agree to have vehicle inspection and driving skill assessments.
- Become skilled at driving in a variety of locations, road conditions, time of day, and weather.
- Drive under all conditions of weather, roadways, and traffic while successfully managing passenger's route and schedule requirements.
- Learn and practice safety and security rules and procedures required in the transportation of persons with a disability, youth and elderly.
- Learn efficient routes, schedules, streets and locations within the SLW service area.
Hours & Pay:
- Availability from 7am-6pm
- $16.82 per hour
Language skill preference: Able to speak Spanish preferred. We have many riders who speak Spanish.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $16.86 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Shift:
- 8 hour shift
- No nights
Work Days:
- Monday to Friday
