We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant with experience in the Veterinary field, who loves cats and understands feline behavior! We are a small, but busy, 2-doctor practice; our clients consider their cats family members and want the best care possible for them.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 6 months experience in the Veterinary field
- Assist veterinarian with exams and with surgery including dental prophys, Spay/Neuter & general sedated procedures, care for hospitalized patients, perform nail trims, administer subQ fluids, vaccines and injections and perform blood draws.
- Experience in Avimark or other Veterinary software preferred
JOB DUTIES:
We are a feline only practice. You must love cats and have a concern for their welfare, and work in a friendly but firm compassionate manner, using Cat Friendly Handling.
- Assist with surgeries including Dental Prophys, Spay/Neuter & general sedated procedures.
- Care for hospitalized patients
- Nail Trims
- Administer sub-q fluids
- Administer vaccines and injections
- Perform blood draws
- Assist Veterinarian with Exams
- Fill prescriptions
- x-ray certification
- Process lab samples and prepare for pick up
- Service and calibration of Lab Machine
- Sharpen Dental Instruments
- Order Lab Supplies
- Have knowledge of Veterinary Software Prepare surgical packs and operate Autoclave
- Cleaning and Laundry
- Front end/Reception skills not required but beneficial
HOURS & PAY:
- The position is 28-32 hours a week.
- Workdays are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and occasional Saturday mornings. There are no after-hours emergencies, no overnight or weekend hospitalizations, or boarding.
$17.00-$22.00 per hour depending on qualifications.
