A local government agency is seeking qualified applicants to fill an Office Specialist Position.
This full-time, non-exempt position provides general administrative support for the Public Works and Community and Economic Development Departments processes building, right-of-way, site development, change-of-use, sign permits and land use applications. Responsible for advising customers on the procedure for renting and obtaining licenses or permits for the use of city facilities and associated fees.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma / GED
- Three (3) years' experience in an administrative, secretarial, or clerical position
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience with Adobe Pro
- Possession of or obtain within 90 days of employment a Notary Public Commission
- Knowledge of building construction or permit / license transactions
Job Duties:
- Provides general administrative support for the Public Works and Community and Economic Development Department
- Processes building, right-of-way, site development, change-of-use, sign permits, and land use applications
- Responsible for advising customers on the procedure for renting and obtaining licenses or permits for the use of city facilities and associated fees.
- Courteously and effectively engage with employees and the public
- Apply standard office practices and procedures, basic knowledge of - English composition, spelling, and grammar

Wages, Hours and Benefits:
- Salary range is $46,203 to $60,285 per year; starting salary is dependent on qualifications and experience
- Monday through Friday 8-5 and attend 2 to 3 evening meetings per month
