Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Extrusion Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring extrusion machinery to produce high-quality plastic products. This role requires a strong understanding of plastics extrusion processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor extrusion machinery to ensure optimal production levels and quality standards.
- Set up and adjust machinery based on specifications, including temperature, speed, and pressure settings.
- Utilize measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify product dimensions and quality.
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and lubricating parts.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with team members to implement Lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently throughout the production process.
- Maintain accurate production logs and documentation as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in plastics extrusion or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Proficient in using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Experience with materials handling techniques in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes and operation of lathes is a plus.
- Understanding of logic controllers and their application in production machinery is beneficial.
- Experience with plastics injection molding is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
