Manager, R&D and Equipment Center, Workwear Outfitters, LLC, Eagle Pass, TX:
Provide expert advice and input to Workwear's R&D Engineers to design, assemble, and test production of automated sewing equipment. Conduct final quality checks and fine-tuning of all Workwear's equipment assembled by the R&D department. Train new Spanish-speaking R&D employees, Assembly Technicians, and Installation Technicians in the assembly and adjustment of all Workwear's automated sewing machines. Design pocket tooling and develop programs to run Automatic Pocket Setter Machines that are owned by Workwear. Oversee making the sewing programs for the PFAFF3588, PFAFF3568, PFAFF3589, BAS326G, and BAS341H Automated Pocket Setter Machines. Perform programming of programmable logic controllers and drivers. Research options to update obsolete sewing equipment. Replace obsolete equipment with new motors, programmable logic controllers, drivers, sewing heads, electronic valves, sensors and all necessary maintenance to have the Workwear's machines working in good conditions. Perform diagnostic and program human machine interfaces. Develop the programs for the human machine interfaces used on the sewing equipment. Manage the Equipment center budget and provide forecast and variances explanations. Support and train on the R&D (Workwear developed) machinery being used in internal manufacturing facilities, such as RW24, J65, AWF, MEAT 1, Hem & Deco, Meat 3, CLA, and PCT machines.
Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field and 5 years of post-bachelor's progressive R&D experience in cutting and sewing equipment.
Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in apparel production.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD.
Must be fluent in Spanish.
International travel to manufacturing facilities in Mexico and Honduras to provide training and technical support required up to 20%. Domestic travel required up to 10%.
