The Role
The MS People Manager & Talent and Development Lead is responsible for building, leading, and developing a high-performing team of member-facing associates. This role is centered on people management, ensuring team members are empowered, engaged, and equipped to deliver exceptional member experiences and drive retention. Through effective leadership, strategic hiring, and comprehensive training initiatives, the Lead fosters a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, creating clear career pathways and internal mobility opportunities. The role also ensures the team operates efficiently within scalable processes that align with business objectives, contributing to organizational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, Coach, and Develop: Provide hands-on leadership to member-facing associates, fostering a culture of engagement, collaboration, and excellence. Offer ongoing coaching, mentorship, and feedback to maximize team performance.
- Talent Acquisition & Retention: Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and long-term retention of member-facing associates. Implement strategies to attract top talent and create an environment where employees can thrive.
- Training & Professional Development: Design, implement, and oversee all learning and development initiatives for member-facing roles. Use a variety of instructional techniques such as role-playing, simulations, and team exercises to enhance skills and effectiveness.
- Performance Management: Establish and monitor key performance metrics to evaluate team effectiveness. Implement strategies to improve associate engagement, member satisfaction, and retention rates.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with leadership, including the Chief People Officer, to develop and execute strategic organizational design initiatives that align with business goals.
- Scalability & Process Optimization: Embed sustainable processes that allow the team to serve and retain members at scale, continuously identifying areas for improvement.
- Employee Engagement & Culture: Build a strong, values-aligned culture where employees feel motivated, supported, and connected to the organization's mission.
- Facilitate Knowledge Sharing: Maintain best practice-sharing channels to ensure consistency and innovation across the team.
- Special Member-Related Projects: Lead or support strategic initiatives that enhance member engagement and overall business performance.
